HELP NEEDED AT THE SPRING WILDFLOWER SHOW 2023

Most jobs need no botanical knowledge!
Public showtimes are Friday May 5, 2-5 pm, Saturday May 6, 10 am – 4 pm and Sunday May 7, 10 am – 4 pm.
MAY 4, THURSDAY
- Collect flowers–short or long routes available. Any time this day. [**]
- Prepare the multi-purpose room at Jefferson Comm. Ctr. 1-5 pm all or part.
- Set up tables, cover with plastic tablecloths.
- Fill jars (vases) with water.
- Assemble standards for family signs.
- Set up non-flower displays in upper room.
MAY 5, FRIDAY, starting 7 am
- Unpack flowers and arrange in jars, one species per jar.
- Put flowers onto tables by family.
- Identify flowers; label with pre-printed species card. [**]
- Mark each species with native/non-native stickers. [**]
- Showtime jobs* 2-5 p.m.–staff tables, interact with visitors (see below).
MAY 6, SATURDAY
- Tidy show room (sweep; freshen bouquets; etc.) 9-10 a.m.
- More ID of the hard species. [**]
- Showtime jobs* 10am-4 pm –staff tables, interact with public (see below).
MAY 7, SUNDAY
- Tidy show room (sweep; freshen bouquets; etc.) 9-10 a.m.
- Showtime jobs*:10 am-4 pm–staff tables, interact with public (see below).
- Clean up! 4 p.m.: (opportunity to take home flowers)
- Empty jars of labels, plants, and water.
- Wash jars and stow in plastic bins.
- Take down tables, clean the room.
* SHOWTIME JOBS (2-hour shifts)
- Greet visitors at the Welcome Table
- Staff the CNPS booth–sell posters and t-shirts, provide information.
- Staff the plant identification table– ID plants and photos people bring in. [**]
- Engage people at the invasive plant display or flower parts table.
